I'm a floral lover, mix and matching and the flowers and bow scarfs in my hair it's my trade mark. I love everything about fashion and what I'm doing is talking about fashion trends, current and old, showing off my Fashion Designs/Drawings. There is going to be alot of my opinions and everything which can relate back to the fashion industry. Enjoy x By Louise M Perry

Thoughts
In the process of making the final garment the light grey lycia material and the darker grey cotton that we are using for the final piece contrasted well together, also the subtraction cutting brings these to shades of grey to stand out more. I found the screen printing technique useful and quiet easy to do and would like to use this technique in work to come.
Process of making
Step by step
Step 1 -lay both materials on top of each other the lycia and the cotton, mark out the height and length, join up the lines and cut out. The length = 270 cm and the height is 120 cm
Step 2 - sew along 3 sides of the material leaving one side, turn inside out and press material
Step 3 - place material flat with lycia material facing upwards, place front and back patterns ontop, pin down and draw around with chalk then join up the bottom of the armholes to each other this is negative space this will be cut out. Before cutting negative space we screen printed the front a nude torso in black ink
Step 4 - once screen printing is dried Sew together the front and back sides up to the arm hole
Step 5 - place the circle patterns on the lycia material and cut each out. 4 circles
Step 6 - fold over 1 circle to the other and sew all the way around, do the same to the other one. This creates the tunnel
Step 7 - cut the lining out on lycia material and sew the lining together up each side to the arm hole and turn insdie out. Start sewing the lining into the bodice around the armholes, boat neckline at the front and the open back line. Then sew the shoulders together with the lining to. Which you pull the lining through the garment holding the shoulder, sew together, same with the other one,the end of the lining is sewn to the end of the garment.

Influenced
Influenced by the human body. The torso............
the torso looks more elegant in black and white because it shows a softer and has a better connection to what is going on if its a emotion image

Developing My Research
........ Northface .......
Looking at there company of the material they use not the style of garments. There garments keep in all the insulating air trapped by inner layers of clothes, which otherwise gets blown away. Fabrics are made windproof by weaving them very tightly, so that the gaps between the threads are too small for air to pass through at speed......... Northface .......

Concept
After looking at my artists and fashion designers that their work is inspired by communication, i am going research in more detail the two chosen ideas i have decided to develop on which are movement and light. Within movement i am more looking into the element wind because it can blow in any direction which has no limits and also the different ways the body can move in to the simplest to the most awkward position this can relate together with the wind as it can be the element blowing the body into a position. The light i am going to go into the light casting shadows, mainly looking at a silhouette shapes that are made because of the light. This will link in with what shape the design of the garment will be and also when photographing ill make sure it has a interesting silhouette shape.
Interests
What i find interesting is the different ways a garment can move and when it has moved the lines and shapes it creates, also the part of the garment that is moving like is it extra material added on or is it the bottom half because it can create any shape when it is moving and goes in the direction it is blowing into.
also another one i find interesting is the use of light casting shadows, and the contrast that is used example, having a dark silhouette because of the lights position.

Subtraction Cutting
I found this technique of cutting really good it made me think more about how patterns can be done in different ways, it was interesting how it all came together as it was made from two pieces of fabric and four circles, two top pieces and lining pieces.
